The event content did not have enough interactions between the participants;
"Climb the Greater Fire Wall" is still not easy for many people
Conclusion
Overall we had a good learning experience in running this event, and we were glad to be part of the worldwide DevFestW event series. We recognize that female developers and students are an important part of our community and for our future events at Lanzhou GDG. We also learned that BarCamp is a good format to use in the future again, as it can help developers share and discuss their views,and also make connections with other people. Lessons learned from organizing this event included the following: There was not enough time for developer to think about the Barcamp theme during the event, and many of the attendees were not proactive in participating interactions with others during the event, which was something we will try to improve in the future.
Special thanks to Adriana Cerundolo and Stephanie Liu at Google Developer Relation for the event information and guidelines provided. We are glad we joined this DevFestW series this year. Hope we'll do this again next year. |
