An important API doc on how to migrate your current JavaScript based Google Maps app from V2 to the latest V3 version has been released today by Google Maps team:

Due to many Google Maps applications in China were built based on the V2 API, and V2 API service will be stopped in the future, it's very important that you should migrate your applications to the latest V3 API ASAP, if you haven't done so. This documentation should be very helpful in guiding you through the migration process.
